A ratcheting CVT utilizes a series of a single-way clutches or ratchets that rectify and sum only "forward" motion. The on-off attributes of a normal ratchet ensures that quite a few of such styles will not be ongoing in Procedure (i.e. technically not a CVT), but in practice, there are various similarities in Procedure, in addition to a ratcheting
